TaxSet
Privacy Policy
Last updated 28 August 2026
TaxSet does not collect your financial data. There is no server to send it to. Everything you type stays in a database inside the app's own private storage on your device. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no trackers, and no bank connections.
What stays on your device
Every figure you enter — income, expenses, categories, notes, dates, your tax rate, your
quarterly goal and your appearance settings — is written to a local SQLite database
(taxset.db) in the app's sandbox. It is never uploaded, synced, backed up to us,
or shared with anyone. We cannot see it, because it never reaches us.
The app does not ask for any device permissions beyond the private storage every app is given for its own files. It does not request access to your contacts, camera, photos, location, or health data.
What leaves your device, and only when you choose
| Action | What is sent | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Sending feedback Settings → Send feedback |
Your message, the category you picked, your email address if you choose to give one, and the app and OS version. No transaction data is ever attached. | Formspree, which forwards it to the developer by email |
| Exporting your data Settings → Export |
A CSV or JSON file of your transactions, written to the app cache | Wherever you send it via the system share sheet — entirely your choice |
| Leaving a tip Settings → Support TaxSet |
Nothing from TaxSet. The purchase is handled entirely by the store. | Apple App Store or Google Play |
Sending feedback is the only network request TaxSet makes. Nothing else in the app contacts the internet — not on launch, not in the background, not ever.
Tips and in-app purchases
TaxSet is free. Every calculation, screen, export and all six main themes are free forever. The optional Tip Jar unlocks decoration only — extra themes, progress ring styles and badges.
Purchases are processed by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. TaxSet never sees or stores your name, payment details, billing address or store account. All the app keeps is a single local flag recording which tier you unlocked, stored on your device alongside everything else. There is no receipt-validation server and no purchase history is transmitted to us.
Children
TaxSet is a tool for self-employed adults managing their own tax set-aside. It is not directed at children, and because it collects no personal information it does not knowingly collect anything from anyone of any age.
Deleting your data
- Settings → Your data → Delete all data wipes every transaction and resets every setting immediately and irreversibly.
- Deleting the app removes the database with it. Nothing survives elsewhere, because nothing was ever stored elsewhere.
- A tip you have already paid for is not revoked by deleting your data. You can bring it back with Restore in the Tip Jar.
- To have a feedback message you sent deleted, contact us and it will be removed from the developer's inbox.
Your rights
Rights such as access, correction, portability and erasure under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA and similar laws all attach to data held by us. TaxSet holds none: your financial records are in your hands the whole time, exportable at any moment and deletable in one tap. The single exception is a feedback message you chose to send, which you can ask us to delete. We have never sold or shared personal information, and never will.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and any change that affects what leaves your device will be called out in the app's release notes.
Contact
Use Settings → Send feedback inside the app. It reaches the developer directly, and never attaches any of your financial data — only your message, the category you picked, an optional reply address, and the app and OS version.
